INTRODUCTION
This document
mainly focuses on InformaticaPowercenter client Tool: Workflow Monitor.
Informatica
is a powercenter tool is used for Extracting, Transforming and Loading data in
to warehouse tables.
InformaticaPowercenter
Client Tool:
There
are four clients for Informaticapowercenter namely:
- Powercenter Designer
- Powercenter Repository Manager
- Powercenter Workflow Manager
- Powercenter Workflow Monitor
In
this document I have described steps to:

Configure domains
·
Add Repository to Domains
·
Connecting to Repositories
·
Verify Session Logs and Workflow Logs
·
Verify run Properties and Status of a run
HOW
TO CONFIGURE DOMAINS
When
login first time after installation we need to perform the following steps:
- Go
to start
- select
All programs
- choose
Informatica 9.1.0
- choose
‘client’
- choose
‘powercenter client’
- choose
powercenter workflow monitor
For
Adding the domain details click on configure domain.
A
new box would be opened. There will be a button to add new domain as shown
below

Provide
the Domain name, Gateway Host and Gateway Port details.
Once
the details are added, we can see the domain present in left pane of configure Domain box.
Also
the repository names on right pane
of the box.
Choose
the repository required and click OK
Add
the respective repository to this domain.
CONNECTING
TO THE REPOSITORY
For
connecting to the repository follow the following steps:
- Right click on
the repository name
- Click on Connect.
- Provide the
Username and Password
- Once details
are provided click on connect button.
Once
we are connected to the repository we can see the list of integration service.
Select
the integration service which pertaining to our user.
Right
click the integration service and click on connect
Right
click on the folder in which we have our workflows.
It
is the folder which contains all the work flows which is executed for loading
data to Stage table and Target tables.
Click
on open
We
can see all the workflows status inside the folder.
Right
click on any of the workflow and click on Open
Latest 20 Runs
We
can see the session task inside the
workflow selected as below:

For
Verification of logs, right click on the session
name and click on Get Session Log
We get all the details of session
logs as below.
We save the session log, copy the
content and find errors inside this log as required.
VERIFICATION OF STATUS OF WORKFLOW
EXECUTION
Right click on the session name and
click on Get Run Properties
We get the details of tables
updated, count of records updated in each table etc.
The details will be present at the
bottom or right bottom of the Workflow monitor client as shown below this can
be adjusted as needed also).

We can verify the Output window and
session logs and get to know if any issue in processing the source data.
By this method we can analyse where
the error has occurred and find solution according to the issue.
