INTRODUCTION
This document mainly focuses on how
to integrate a Quick test Professional 9.2 automation test script with Quality
center 9.2 and what are the
prerequisites to perform the integration.
PRE-REQUISTIES
FOR INTEGRATION
To enable remote Quality Center clients to run tests on your
Quick Test computer:
The following Addin need to
be installed to connect Quality center from QTP

Quality center
System Test Remote Agent
·
Quality Center Integrations Matrixes: 8.2 SP1 (Version supportedQuick Test
Professional 8.0.1, 8.2, 8.2 SP1, 8.2 SP2, 9.0, 9.1,
and 9.2 with Mercury Quality Center 8.2 SP1.
Click on Add-Ins Page
Click on Quality center
System Test Remote Agent
Click on Download Addin
Quality center 9.2
Click on Quick Test
Professional Add-in
Click on Addin for Quality
center 8.2 SP1 ->This addin supports integration for 9.2
If the above mentioned setting are not done then while connecting to Quality
center from QTP the below error will be thrown
STEPS TO INTEGRATE QTP TEST SCRIPTS WITH QUALITY CENTER

Login to Quality center Navigate to Test
Plan->Create Test folder (say Sample Test)
Ø
Navigate to Test Lab->Create Test folder (say
Sample Test)
Ø
Now open the Test script in QTP 9.2
->Navigate to File ->Quality Center Connection
Ø
Quality center Connection Server connection
Dialog box pops up, enter the Quality center Link and then Click on Connect button.

Quality center Connection credential Dialog box
pops up, in Authentication section enter the User name password of Quality Center
-> Click on Authentication button
Ø
In Login to Project section enter the Domain and Project ->
Click on Login button
Ø
Click on Close
Ø
Navigate to File->Save As
Ø
Save test Dialog box opens Click on Quality
Center Button on the bottom
Ø
Save test to Quality center dialog box opens

Select the Test folder created (Say Sample Test)
and Click OK
Ø
Navigate to Quality center Test Plan ->Sample
Test Folder contains the automation Test script
Ø
Navigate to Test Lab ->Sample Test Folder
(created earlier) Click on Create Test set Icon
New Test Set Window pops up Enter the Test set name (say Testing) and
Click on OK

Click on Select Test The test plan tree
structure appears on the right corner->Select the Test script “Test” under Sample Test folder of Test
plan and Move it to Test Lab
Ø
The Test Script “Test” comes under the Test Set
Testing
Ø
User will be able to run the automation Test
script from Quality Center
CONCLUSION
The above mentioned steps can also be followed for
integrating Mercury Quick Test Professional 9.2 and Mercury Quality
Center 9.2
